Review #8

Well, I have a lot to say…
First off, Nikky is ridiculously wonderful. I wandered in off the street on at the end of March “just for fun” and she was the first one to greet me with that big, beautiful, infectious smile. Asked me what I was looking for and I told the the impossible; a 2023 Tucson PHEV Ultimate trim. I know there’s a long wait for these cars, so it was just a pipe dream. Then she made a couple calls and had an offer for me on one that someone had cancelled , delivery expected in about a month – shimmering silver, which happened to be my #1 choice. Talk about right place, right time, sign me up! She really is “The Car Lady”!!
Not much to negotiate, the price was exactly what I expected and I did push back for a bit of a discount on some of the protections and a little extra warranty, I feel what I got was very fair for the price. Of course I asked for more, but I knew when too much was too much, and this is car sales, people; they need to make some money somewhere, so let them make it. Elie, you did a good job! Now , it did take an extra 6 weeks due to processing delays, but I was kept informed every step of the way. I had a fender bender in the meantime in my old car, so imagine if I already had my new one? Stars aligned.
Financing with Sam was a breeze, paperwork quick and easy and what a great guy. You can tell he really wants what’s best for his customers. Fast forward to a few days before pick up day and I threw him a curveball that I was not going to finance through the dealership. He asked appropriate questions and didn’t put any unnecessary pressure on me. Of course they want you to finance through them, but he understood why I wasn’t and that was it. No hard feelings. Also, on pick up day, there was someone in front of me that was taking FOREVER with him. You could tell through his body language that he was controlling the conversation and trying to move things a long, but still took the time to address all of this gentleman’s questions. Very classy. Even though I waited about an hour, it was okay. I wouldn’t want him to rush me out the door if I had important questions either. This is a big purchase! Also, while waiting my partner, friend and myself were showered with customer service, refreshments and gifts. Thanks for the swag, Elie and Nikki.
I got to meet the service guys during this time and also later in the day. I had an issue with the charger when I got home and it wasn’t reading the plug. I did a bit of testing at and deduced it had to be the receptacle. I brought it in and dealt with David. Super helpful and again, kept me informed every step of the way. Gave me options and got me answers to my questions. Within 48 hrs, I had my car back and it’s been working perfectly ever since. I also have some longer term fixes happening with some stitching and something with the trunk, and Marco has been an absolute star! As I always say, it’s not what happens that matters, it’s how it’s handled. Top notch, David, Marco and the service team – especially with regards to communication. That’s all most people want, is to be adequately informed of what is going on, and that’s exactly what you all did.
Would I refer someone to Myers Barrhaven Hyundai? Well, I already have. Sent my sister to Nikki a week after I went in and she performed a miracle for her as well. The dealership has no control over the processing in Vancouver and Montreal and in fact, my sister happened to get her new PHEV before me! Lucky for her, but in the end lucky for me too. Sibling rivalry at its best!! Did I mention I got a $100 referral cheque before I even got my new car? They keep the promises they make, without asking.
So, yes, I did have a good experience, and yes, I will keep referring people to Nikky, and yes, they do have a client for life!
